2006 Events
June 1
Rod attends meeting of 200 CEOs in Marrakech, Morocco regarding business and politics in the Middle East/Northern Africa Region. This will be Rod's fifth annual trek to this event providing deep insight into what is taking place in the region. Think starfish research.
June 5
Rod attends a Lebanese CEO event at the Garden of Forgiveness in Beirut and also meet with the Chairman of Solidere, the largest real estate company in the country which is leading the critical reconstruction efforts following the civil war.
June 12-13
Rod participates in Jamii Bora Board of Directors Meeting. Jamii Bora is the largest and fastest growing indigenous micro lending group in Africa, and the meeting will also focus on the building of the city by the poor, for the poor of Kaputei, just north of Nairobi. This is the micro lending group mentioned in the book in the story about how micro lending decentralizes credit risk through starfish-like borrowing circles.

Fascinating feedback received on how new starfish networks and decentralization is hitting banking, gasoline and diesel, travel, and even concrete manufacturing and mining in Kenya. 2004 Events
May 24, Rod gives "The Decentralized Revolution" presentation to a group of 50 CEO's at Stanford Graduate School of Business. Ori and Rod prepared the presentation together. We ask the group whether we should turn this presentation into a book and they respond "absolutely." The book concept is born.
